Choi Wang-myung(5th semester doctoral student) and Han Young-min(4th semester doctoral student) from Professor Yoo Ho-cheon’s lab in the Department of Electronic Engineering at Hanyang University have been officially selected for the STEM section of ‘2025 Academia Next-Generation Support Project(Research Grant for Master's and Doctoral Students)’ organized by the Korea Research Foundation.
This program, jointly operated by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Research Foundation, provides research grants to enable master’s and doctoral students to independently pursue creative and challenging research ideas related to their thesis topics. The selection process comprehensively evaluates research capability, research environment, validity of study and research plans, growth potential, and expected effect. Selected students receive annual research funding of 25 million KRW to support research activities over one to two years ahead.
This program is a representative initiative to support next-generation researcher development with numerous applicants nationwide each year, requiring both creativity and an adventurous mindset. Therefore, the selection is regarded as a meaningful recognition of the innovative research topics and the students’ potential as researchers.
Choi, working in the semiconductor new device lab, is pursuing the project on a true random number generator based on oxide nanoparticles with morphological randomness, while Han focuses on the development of a security key generating device responding to arc discharge signals. Both students plan to design new devices suitable for their proposed research themes and verify their performances, based on the lab’s primary research areas of random number-based security devices and next-generation security & AI computing technologies.
Both students expressed their commitment, stating, “We will dedicate ourselves fully to carrying out the proposed projects.” Professor Yoo Ho-cheon, their advisor, added, “We will provide all necessary support throughout the project and actively mentor them to grow into talented researchers capable of designing, analyzing, and applying devices.”
Meanwhile, the HYU lab led by Professor Yoo Ho-cheon has attracted domestic and international attention in the fields of random number-based security devices and new material devices through numerous publications in international academic journals and patent filings. The simultaneous selection of two doctoral students for this prestigious next-generation 토토사이트 드래곤 먹튀er program showcases the lab's strength and Hanyang University's competitiveness in 토토사이트 드래곤 먹튀 once again.
