Graduate students from Professor Wie Jeong-jae's Advanced Materials Laboratory in the Department of Organic and Nano Engineering at Hanyang University received multiple honors at the ‘2025 Korean Polymer Society Fall Conference’ held on September 30 at BEXCO, Busan, affirming their outstanding research achievements.

At the conference, Moon Ho-joon received the ‘TCI Best Paper Presentation Award,’ Lee Jae-kyung earned the ‘Paper Presentation Excellence Award,’ and Yoon So-mi was awarded the ‘Encouragement Award.’ Of particular note, the ‘TCI Best Paper Presentation Award,’ sponsored by TCI Sejin CI, is highly prestigious in the polymer science field, given to researchers who demonstrate innovative work and exceptional presentation skills.

Moon Ho-joon delivered an oral presentation on Light-Triggered In-Operando Shape Fixation of Magneto-Responsive Microtextures with Covalent Adaptable Networks, which showcased his study of a technology using stimuli-responsive smart polymer composites that react to light and magnetic fields. The research demonstrated precise control over micro-scale structures and complex 3D micro-patterning. The technology anticipates wide-spectrum applications in smart surfaces, micro-actuators, biosensors, and other advanced fields.

Lee Jae-kyung presented a poster titled Swimming Locomotion of Polymer Monolith in Fluids under Continuous Light Irradiation and received the Excellence Paper Presentation Award. This study introduced a method controlling the arrangement and morphology of light-responsive liquid crystal polymers to achieve autonomous and continuous swimming motion under a single light source. This holds potential for developing next-generation microsystems such as light-driven microrobots and self-propelling soft actuators.

Yoon So-mi was awarded the Encouragement Award for her poster on Molecular Design of Ureidopyrimidinone End-Capped Oligoimide for Enhanced Mechanical and Electrical Properties. The 뮤직 토토사이트 proposed a molecular design that regulates hydrogen bonding between polymer chains and molecular weight to increase self-healing efficiency. This technology promises diverse usage in flexible display materials, smart coatings, and wearable electronics.

Professor Wie Jeong-jae expressed pride in his students’ consistent efforts on developing research capabilities being highly recognized at the conference and expressed hope that they will continue to play a pivotal role in advancing polymer science in Korea as the next generation of scholars.
