The Paiknam Memorial Association of Hanyang University held the 7th Hanyang Paiknam Awards ceremony on October 16, presenting plaques and prizes to Professor Kim Joung-ho of KAIST’s Department of Electrical Engineering and to Hanyang University Emeritus Professor Park Soo-kil.

Professor Kim Joung-ho was selected as the recipient of the Engineering Award for his pioneering work in conceptualizing and developing the ‘High Bandwidth Memory (HBM),’ a core technology in AI semiconductors, and for establishing its design framework. His contributions have strengthened the competitiveness of the Korean semiconductor industry including companies such as Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix and earned him recognition as a world-leading scholar in the AI semiconductor field.

The Music Award was presented to 토토사이트 케이 벳 University Emeritus Professor Park Soo-kil, a baritone who has long been a leading figure in the Korean opera scene. Professor Park has achieved both artistic and educational excellence throughout his career, contributing significantly to the development of opera in Korea through roles such as director of the Korea National Opera and co-chair of the Korea Opera History Museum promotion committee.

Established to carry on the educational and artistic legacy of Hanyang University founder Dr. Paiknam(白南) Kim Lyun-joon (1914–2008), the Hanyang Paiknam Awards honor individuals who have achieved outstanding accomplishments in the field of engineering and music. A total of 150 million KRW in prize money is awarded to the recipients.
