Now, amid the great whirlwind of change brought about by artificial intelligence (AI) and an unpredictable global landscape, we once again embark on another bold journey toward Hanyang’s bright future together.

The past 86 years hold meaning beyond mere numbers. Today, we are faced with another set of questions for our time. In particular, through AI-integrated, inquiry-based classes, we are establishing a future-oriented educational model unique to Hanyang.

Third: a leap toward becoming a truly global university that communicates beyond borders.

Beyond simply increasing the number of international students, we strive to dramatically strengthen Hanyang’s international competitiveness through vibrant academic exchanges, in-depth joint research, and extensive global student networking that transcends nationality and culture. We aim for “mutually beneficial internationalization,” where we conduct research, solve problems, and learn from and grow with each other. Hanyang will stand firmly at the center of a global platform that closely connects the Seoul and ERICA campuses with prestigious universities and research institutions worldwide.

Fourth: the realization of the warm, social value of research and technology that contributes to solving humanity’s challenges.

Our university’s esteemed professors and passionate researchers continuously tackle and boldly challenge the complex and urgent issues that threaten the sustainable development of humanity. They present innovative solutions to various problems facing humanity, such as energy, climate change, biotechnology, semiconductors, and aging, and deliver research results back to all corners of society through active support for startups, technology transfer, and close industry-academia cooperation.

In particular, the HY-Collective Convergence Research Institute, which opened in April, will serve as a practical research platform that responds to national priorities in future strategic fields such as AI, quantum technology, and defense. We will cultivate a sustainable research ecosystem that values creativity and autonomy while doing our best to nurture the next generation of scholars.

Hanyang’s research must now expand beyond academic achievements to become the activity of an intellectual community that embodies warm responsibility toward humanity and society. Technological advancement can only become meaningful progress when it is accompanied by compassion. Through research, we aim to benefit the world and contribute to creating a more caring community.
