Hanyang University’s Seoul Campus spring festival, RACHIOS 2025: Higher, was held from May 21 to 23. True to its theme— Higher—this year’s RACHIOS soared to new heights, buoyed by the overwhelming enthusiasm of the Hanyang community.

To reinforce its identity, the festival planning committee infused the event with signature elements unique to Hanyang University: blue-themed merchandise, signature cheering culture, and a cohesive stage design. Improvements were also made to facilities, such as expanding the Hanyang Zone and ensuring 24-hour restroom access, in an effort to prioritize students’ comfort and safety.

Festivalgoers who participated in daytime booth activities received raffle tickets for the “Magic Pass,” granting priority admission to the main stage. This initiative not only boosted booth engagement but also helped raise the university’s profile through banner installations around nearby commercial areas.

Festival Director Park Chan (4th year, Department of Industrial Engineering) noted, “As RACHIOS branding took root, related agencies raised more concerns about safety. In response, we developed detailed emergency response protocols, partnered with Safe Hanyang University, installed emergency signage, and replaced outdated fire extinguishers.”

This year’s performances were praised for strengthening student identity and school spirit. On opening night, Crush, Cherry Filter, Nell, and Silica Gel lit up the stage. On the final night, following a cheer rally by RHooters, Myao, (G)I-DLE, and Jannabi took the stage, uniting the audience in singing Hanyang University’s official cheer song, “For Hanyang.” Cherry Filter also made a special return appearance, further energizing the crowd and deepening their connection to the university.

Noh Yeo-jin (3rd year, Department of Sociology) shared, “There’s a unique kind of energy you can only feel when the amphitheater is packed. Seeing so many people wearing Hanyang University gear made me feel proud and excited,” adding, “Cherry Filter’s return performance was unforgettable and made me truly happy.”

First-year student Choi Ji-chul (1st year, Department of Architecture), attending his first university festival, said, “It was amazing to see celebrities for the first time. There were so many booths and hands-on experiences that I had a great time throughout the festival.”

Reflecting on the event, Festival Director Park expressed gratitude: “This festival was made possible by the hard work of our planning team, central executive committee, performers, support staff, and many others. I didn’t realize how fulfilling it could be to bring joy to others. It was an honor to contribute to the Hanyang experience.”
