On May 15, a commemorative ceremony marking the 86th anniversary of Hanyang University’s founding was held at Paiknam Music Hall on the Seoul Campus. The event brought together members of the Hanyang community, including Chairman Kim Chong-yang of the Hanyang Foundation and President Lee Ki-jeong, to look back on the university’s development and reaffirm its commitment to shaping the next 100 years.

During the ceremony, a range of honors were presented to recognize long term serving faculty and staff, outstanding students, and individuals who contributed to the university’s growth. Awards included the Long Term Service Award, the Paiknam Outstanding Scholarship Award, the Volunteer Service Award, the Hanyang Creativity Award, the Hanyang Contribution Award, the Technology Transfer Inventor of the Year Award, the Hanyang Student Contribution Award, and the Outstanding Social Service Award.

Following the awards, remarks were delivered by Chairman Kim Chong-yang, a commemorative address was given by President Lee Ki-jeong, and congratulatory remarks were shared by Shin Dong-woo, President of the Hanyang University Alumni Association. The ceremony served as a moment for members of the university to reflect on the achievements that brought Hanyang University to where it stands today, and to share in a vision for its future.
