On May 19, Hanyang University held a ceremony in the 6th floor conference hall of the Main Administration Building at the Seoul Campus to award an honorary doctorate in engineering to 프랑스 토토사이트 Seok-hyun, chairman of Suhsan Group and a 1975 graduate in mechanical engineering. The ceremony was attended by Chairman Kim Chong-yang of the Hanyang Foundation, President Lee Ki-프랑스 토토사이트, and other distinguished guests.
In his congratulatory remarks, President Lee stated, “This conferral of an honorary doctorate upon Chairman Jeong Seok-hyun represents a most beautiful example of how technology, responsibility, and generosity can harmoniously shape a person’s life. Chairman Jeong is a true embodiment of Hanyang University’s founding philosophy of ‘Love in Deed and Truth’- not as a slogan, but as a lived practice of action, accountability, and giving. Today’s honorary degree is not merely a reward for a man’s achievements, but a heartfelt tribute from Hanyang to an architect of hope who has built it upon the foundation of responsibility.”
Chairman Jeong responded with humility, saying, “First, I sincerely thank President Lee Ki-jeong for bestowing upon me this great honor. Fifty years ago, while working full-time, I was uncertain whether I would even complete my degree. Never could I have imagined that one day I would stand here, receiving such a prestigious honorary doctorate from my alma mater, Hanyang University. I will carry this honor with me always—as a reminder of the responsibilities I now bear. I pledge to give back to society with greater devotion, to embody the spirit of ‘Love in Deed and Truth,’ and to further elevate the name of Hanyang as a proud alumnus.”
Chairman Jeong was recognized with the honorary doctorate in engineering for his contributions to national development through the founding of Suhsan Group, which places technological innovation at the heart of its business strategy. Following the enactment of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, he personally returned to his role as Safety Management CEO, taking the lead in fostering a safe corporate culture—an act that exemplifies responsible leadership.
