The Beyond-G Global Innovation Center at Hanyang University (Director: Professor Kim Sun-woo) announced that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt, DLR) on May 8 in Munich, Germany, to pursue joint research on next-generation mobile communication and navigation technologies.
DLR is a leading German government research institution specializing in aerospace, energy, transportation, and digital communications. It is recognized worldwide for its advanced research capabilities, especially in the fields of communication and navigation technologies.
Through this agreement, the two institutions will collaborate on next-generation mobile communication systems, precision navigation technologies, and the development of related service platforms. Meanwhile, the Hanyang University Beyond-G Global Innovation Center was established in August 2024 after being selected for the next-generation communication sector of the Global Leading Research Center (IRC) program by Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT. The center aims to become a world-class research hub focused on future communication innovations, 6G-based core network technologies, and the convergence of AI and satellite communications.
