Hanyang 토토사이트 확인 Day: A new model for online donation campaigns
Spreading the spirit of 토토사이트 확인 on the university’s founding day
“A celebration for everyone”
In celebration of its founding anniversary, Hanyang University hosted Hanyang Giving Day from May 12 to 16. The campaign was an online-based initiative open to all members of the Hanyang community—students, alumni, and faculty—and served as more than just a fundraising event. It became a festival of sharing and solidarity, offering tangible support to those in need.
Empowering donors to choose
Giving Day originated from Giving Tuesday, a global movement launched in the United States in 2012 to encourage charitable giving following the consumer-heavy Black Friday season. Celebrating its fifth year at Hanyang, this year’s Giving Day brought together meaningful participation and emotional engagement, supported by both online and offline activities.

Shin Dong-min, Assistant Manager of the Office of External Relations and Development, and campaign coordinator, explained, “What sets Giving Day apart is that donors can choose how their contributions will be used.” Donors could direct their gifts to improving educational facilities in their department, supporting university strategic initiatives, or funding living-expense scholarships for students in need. The campaign reframed giving from a one-way act of goodwill into a collaborative effort toward shared impact.
Donation items shaped by students
A highlight of Hanyang 토토사이트 확인 Day was its participatory donation items. Rather than simply asking for contributions, the campaign included initiatives that reflected real student needs—identified through surveys conducted by “HanOl,” the official student supporters’ group from the Office of External Relations.
Jung Soo-ah (Department of German Language and Literature, 4th year), leader of HanOl, explained, “Based on student feedback, we created donation items such as mentoring programs for international students, cultural activity support for undergraduates, and funding for student clubs.” She added, “Giving Day created meaningful connections between donors and recipients by aligning contributions with actual campus needs, multiplying the value of each gift.”
The energy of 토토사이트 확인 across the campus
In addition to online participation, Giving Day included pre-event booths on campus, which created a vibrant atmosphere leading up to the campaign. “We sold snacks and Hanyang merchandise at the booths, with all proceeds going to the campaign,” said Jung. “It was more than just sales—it was a special opportunity to turn consumption into giving.”

During the campaign, the team also produced media content featuring stories and letters from scholarship recipients. Shin noted, “We turned thank-you letters from students into heartfelt videos, sharing their stories and reminding everyone why Giving Day matters.”
Memorable encounters
Jung recalled one particular moment at a booth when a student said it was their first time hearing about such a meaningful campaign. “That comment was both encouraging and sobering,” she reflected. “It showed us how important it is to raise awareness so more students can participate in meaningful giving.”
Shin shared a handwritten letter from a student who had received a scholarship. “The moment I read it, I felt a deep sense of fulfillment. Giving Day has truly become a network of empathy connecting everyone at Hanyang.”
Toward a culture of everyday 토토사이트 확인
Looking ahead, Hanyang Giving Day aims to become a tradition. “We hope this campaign evolves into a defining part of Hanyang’s culture, not just a once-a-year event,” Jung said. Shin added, “We want to foster an environment where anyone can give without pressure—where giving becomes part of everyday life. We ask for your continued interest and participation.”
Hanyang 토토사이트 확인 Day will continue to be a space where small actions spark meaningful change.
