On February 17th, the “DB Kim Joon-ki Cultural Foundation Donation Ceremony” was held in the President’s Office on the second floor of the Administration Building at Hanyang University. The event was attended by Kang Eun-jung, Director of the DB Kim Joon-ki Foundation, Hanyang University President Lee Ki-jeong, Executive Vice President Chung Hyun-chul, and Choi Joong-sub, Vice President for the External Relations and Development.
The DB Kim Joon-ki Cultural Foundation (hereinafter referred to as the DB Foundation) is a public interest corporation established by Kim Joon-ki, the founder of DB Group. The foundation has contributed to the university’s development in various ways, such as providing scholarships to students in the School of Electronic Engineering at the College of Engineering and supporting the establishment of an insurance club in the School of Business. Thanks to this continued support, the total accumulated donation amount recently exceeded 1 billion KRW.
President Lee Ki-jeong stated, “The name ‘DB’ not only stands for ‘Dongbu’ but also symbolizes ‘Dream Big.’ The DB Cultural Foundation carries out numerous scholarship programs that help students achieve their dreams. I believe that students’ aspirations can be shaped or even changed depending on how we guide them. Just as our university’s motto is ‘Love in Deed,’ we will make good use of the generosity extended by the DB Cultural Foundation to help more students nurture and achieve their dreams.”
In response, DB Cultural Foundation Director Kang Eun-jung said, “We are committed to continuously supporting students’ dreams through our programs. We see significant growth in students who participate in our programs over the course of a year.” She added, “I look forward to collaborating with Hanyang University on volunteer activities and various initiatives in the future.”

Meanwhile, with total donations surpassing 1 billion KRW, the DB Cultural Foundation was inducted into the “Diamond Honor Club,” the tier for donors contributing 1 billion KRW or more in the Hall of Honor at the Administration Building.
