Hanyang University's Global Social Innovation Foundation(Shin Hyun-sang as Director) announced that it hosted the “10th Anniversary of Hanyang Social Innovation Ceremony and Futuremaker Workshop” on September 16 at the HIT Conference Hall and the Main Administration Building.

The event was held as part of the university's signature SDG initiative, the Seventeen Hearts Festival, and provided an opportunity to reflect on ten years of accomplishments in social innovation while also declaring a vision for nurturing the next generation of ‘Futuremakers.’

The attendees at the commemorative ceremony at the Seoul Campus HIT Conference Hall include Shin Jae-hyuk, Dean of the Institute for Sustainability at Korea University; Bae Sun-young, Head of Educational Innovation at Seoul Women’s University; Yook Sim-na, Director of Kakao Impact and Vice President of ESG at Kakao; Heo Jae-hyung, CEO of Root Impact; Lee Ho-young, Co-CEO of Impact Research Lab and CEO of Sip-Si-Il-Bang; and Cho Hyun-sik, CEO of the non-profit corporation OnGi. From Hanyang University, President Lee Ki-jeong, Vice President of Seoul Campus Kim Min-soo, Vice President of ERICA Campus Baek Dong-hyun, senior administrators, faculty, staff, and students.

The event proceeded with the following sequence: introductions of guests, welcoming and congratulatory remarks, a presentation on ten years of 토토사이트 토실장 Social Innovation, awarding of plaques of appreciation, interdisciplinary education case studies, a panel discussion with Futuremaker stories, and finally, the proclamation of the vision for Futuremaker education and cultivation.

In his welcoming address, President Lee Ki-jeong said, “Hanyang University will continue to break down disciplinary boundaries, strengthen collaboration, and create social value through interdisciplinary education and research connected to real-world contexts.”

Congratulatory remarks were delivered by former Hanyang President Lee Young-moo, Korea 토토사이트 토실장's Shin Jae-hyuk, and Seoul Women's 토토사이트 토실장's Bae Sun-young. Kim Eun-jung, Head of the Global Social Innovation Foundation(Seoul Campus), then gave a presentation highlighting the footsteps of Hanyang's social innovation journey over the past decade.

Plaques of appreciation were presented to former President Lee Young-moo, Professor Kim Jong-gul, Director Seo Jin-seok, Professor Jeon Young-soo, Heather McClaud, Head of the Ashoka U Network, and Jenifer Morgan, Global Editor of the Stanford Social Innovation Review(SSIR).

The following session featured presentations by Park Joon-gyu, Deputy Director of the Global Social Innovation Foundation, and current Hanyang students, who shared interdisciplinary education cases under the theme ‘Tech for Impact & Local Engagement.’ A panel discussion on ‘The Journey of Future-Makers’ followed. Panelists included Lee Ho-young, Co-CEO of Impact Research Lab and CEO of Sip-Si-Il-Bang, and Cho Hyun-sik, CEO of OnGi, who presented their own cases. The discussion was moderated by Seo Hyun-sun, Editor-in-Chief of Hanyang SSIR Korea Center, and joined by Kim Jin-su, Dean of Hanyang University Intercollege, Yook Sim-na of Kakao Impact, and Heo Jae-hyung of Root Impact, who engaged with the audience on the meaning and roles of Future-Makers.

The final program was the proclamation of the Future-Maker educational vision by Director Shin Hyun-sang of the Global Social Innovation Division. He stated, “We will connect ecosystem practitioners, professors, and students to deliver interdisciplinary curricular and extracurricular programs, enabling young people to combine the explicit knowledge they acquire in classrooms with the tacit knowledge from real-world contexts. Through this process, newly created knowledge will contribute to solving on-the-ground problems, establishing a virtuous cycle of impact.”

In the afternoon, the ‘Futuremaker Workshop’ sessions were held, including: Session 1, sharing of the Tech for Impact Campus Program in cooperation with Kakao; Session 2, local engagement results with MYSC, Korea University, and Seoul Women’s University; Session 3, insights on cultivating Futuremakers with Root Impact; and Session 4, networking and collaboration for the University Impact Alliance.

Director Shin Hyun-sang concluded by saying, “The sharing of impact education and project cases developed through university-community cooperation provided a valuable experience for all participants. Going forward, we aim to establish a University Impact Alliance with institutions such as Korea University and Seoul Women’s University to foster the development of future generations of Futuremakers.”
