On September 18, Hanyang SSIR Korea Center(Kang Chang-mo as Director) announced that it attended the ‘SSIR Asia Convening’ and ‘AVPN Global Conference’ held in Hong Kong from September 2–5, where it engaged with Asia's social innovation leaders and practitioners and shared the center's efforts and outcomes in producing and disseminating social innovation knowledge.

The ‘SSIR Asia Convening’ is an annual event led by the Asian branches of Stanford Social Innovation Review(SSIR) from Korea, China, and Japan. This year’s event discussed major trends and collaborative knowledge producing strategies for social innovation in Asian societies. Hanyang SSIR Korea Center introduced initiatives such as building a learning community for Hanyang students and staff and strategies for developing sponsorship articles to strengthen its position as a social innovation knowledge hub.

Notably, a sponsorship project on ‘Impact Careers’ by the Korean edition of SSIR drew particular attention from attendees. Sponsored by Google.org through Root Impact, this project involved six organizations—including Root Impact’s Impact Career team, Hanyang Global Social Innovation Foundation(GSIF), Impact Alliance, Better Future, Ginger Tea Project, and Impact Research Lab— in joint learning to develop the article, holding significance from the collective effort.

The subsequent ‘AVPN(Asian Venture Philanthropy Network) Global Conference,’ the largest philanthropy network event in Asia, gathered over 1,500 leaders and global foundations from 40 countries. The theme was ‘Collective Action for Sustainable Futures,’ focusing on collaborative strategies through innovative partnerships.

The Hanyang SSIR Korea Center viewed these academic events as an opportunity to seek cooperation with the SSIR Asia branches and various social innovation organizations. Director Kang Chang-mo stated, “We will strengthen Hanyang University’s position as a domestic social innovation knowledge hub and lead the production and spread of social innovation related knowledge through global partnerships.”
