Hanyang University (President Lee Ki-jeong) and the 토토사이트 추천n Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (President Park Chang-sik) have announced the premiere of the original musical R;Link, scheduled for July 26 at CKL Stage in Seoul. This production aims to foster cross-cultural understanding and historical resonance between 토토사이트 추천 and Canada through the performing arts.

The musical is part of a collaborative international arts project commemorating the “2024–2025 Korea–Canada Year of Cultural Exchanges.” Led by the Department of Theatre and Film at Hanyang University, the project also involves students and faculty from the Department of Theatre at Capilano University, the Department of Arts at First Nations University of Canada, and the Department of Drama at the University of Saskatchewan.

More than a work of art, R;Link is a process-oriented collaboration that emphasizes dialogue and shared storytelling between Korean and Canadian youth. The production is based on a true story from the Korean War, in which Canadian soldiers played ice hockey atop the frozen Imjin River. Set against the backdrop of war, the narrative centers on life, hope, and camaraderie on the rink, ultimately portraying a universal bond that transcends borders and cultures. Through the lens of young soldiers who held onto dreams even in hardship, the musical delivers a resonant message to today’s youth.

The project officially launched on March 21 with a production kickoff ceremony held at the Canadian Korean War Memorial in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province. Following a showcase at Hanyang University from June 6 to 8, the production team—comprising actors and staff from both nations—has continued to refine the work through joint rehearsals. The process itself, where young people from diverse cultural backgrounds come together to craft a shared narrative through the language of art, stands as one of the project’s most meaningful achievements.

The musical will premiere in Korea on July 26–27 at CKL Stage in Seoul, and will be followed by performances in Canada on August 15–16 at the BlueShore Financial Centre for the Performing Arts at Capilano University in North Vancouver. Notably, the July 27 performance in Korea coincides with UN Forces Participation Day, while the August 15 show in Canada aligns with Korea’s Liberation Day, adding further historical significance to the events.

This joint production serves as a powerful example of youth-led international artistic collaboration and is expected to become a model for future co-creative programs that center on emerging artists from around the world.
