Hanyang University ranked first in both student startup revenue and the scale of entrepreneurship-related project funding in 2024. The total revenue generated by student-founded companies at Hanyang reached KRW 1.94 billion, nearly double that of Seowon University (KRW 1.06 billion), which ranked second. The university also outperformed its competitors such as Seoul National University (KRW 781 million), Yonsei University (KRW 945 million), and Sungkyunkwan University (KRW 735 million) by approximately KRW 1 billion.

The volume of entrepreneurship-related project funding reflects the university’s capacity to secure key startup support initiatives such as the Laboratory-Centered Startup Leading University Project and the Startup Education Leading University Project. Hanyang secured KRW 13.1 billion in funding, surpassing Sungkyunkwan University (KRW 11.7 billion) and Korea University (KRW 6.3 billion), earning it the top spot in this category.

Hanyang also ranked third in the number of entrepreneurship courses offered and fourth in the number of student-founded startups. These indicators reflect the university’s supportive infrastructure for student entrepreneurship and its emphasis on translating classroom learning into real-world ventures.

Thanks to its strong industry-university partnerships and emphasis on practical education, Hanyang University is solidifying its position as a central startup hub in the Seoul metropolitan area.
