In his opening remarks, Vice President for ERICA campus Baek Dong-hyun said, “Choosing a major is not only about personal interest—it requires insight into future industries. I hope this festival helps students better understand the characteristics of each major and its potential career directions.”

Science and engineering departments attracted attention with hands-on activities using VR and robots, while business-related departments encouraged participation through quizzes and interactive events, creating a vibrant and lively atmosphere.

A major highlight was the panel discussion titled “Future industrial changes and the role of interdisciplinary talent,” held at the main stage. Presenters included Yeon Jae-myung (Executive Director, Hyundai Motor Company), Moon Jang-seok (Executive Vice President, SK ON), Lee Sung-hae (Executive Director, Entegris Korea), Yoon Sang-doo (Director, NAVER AI Lab), Kim Deuk-han (CEO, Kunwon Engineering), and Do Byung-rok (Director, Shinhan Bank). They shared insights on trends and talent demands in their respective fields, followed by a Q&A session based on questions submitted by students.

The event concluded with an award ceremony for “Outstanding Major Experience Booths.” Based on student satisfaction surveys and on-site voting, the Department of Mechanical Engineering received the top prize for its engaging car simulation and 3D printing activities.

Professor Lee Young-bok of the Department of Energy and Bio Sciences stated, “Since our recent integration into the College of Engineering, we’ve needed an opportunity to promote the department. This festival was a meaningful way to connect with more students.”

Students expressed high satisfaction with the event. Kim Seo-hong (LIONS College, 1st year) said, “It was helpful to compare multiple departments and consider a broader range of career paths.” Kim Min-seo (LIONS College, 1st year) added, “Outside of class, I discovered new academic interests through conversations with senior students.” Humanities majors Jung Yoon-seo and Hwang Hye-jung remarked, “The advising from upperclassmen was practical and offered realistic guidance on career concerns.”

With this festival, Hanyang University ERICA provided a strong foundation for students to proactively shape their academic and career trajectories. The university plans to continue offering customized, student-centered career exploration programs in the future.
