From recruitment to employment, accompanying the entire journey
Operating practical programs for employment such as Career Camps and ‘After-Clinics’

Recently, international students at Hanyang University have been achieving remarkable results in the domestic job market. Nine international undergraduate and master's students, who actively participated in programs organized by the International Admissions Team, have successfully secured positions at major corporations such as Samsung E&A, LG CNS, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, and Lotte Mart. Behind their success is the International Admissions Team, which supports students throughout their entire journey—from admission to graduation and beyond. We explored the roles and programs of the team and listened to a real-life story of success.

Accompanying the entire journey:

From admission to employment

Kim Hyun-joo, the head of the International Admissions Team, introduced the department: "The Hanyang University International Admissions Team is responsible for globalization of Hanyang University, specifically by recruiting and managing international degree-seeking students and supporting alumni after they graduate." The team oversees a wide range of tasks, including promotional activities for recruitment, academic record management, visa administration, scholarships, career support, and cultural experience activities.

The team originated from the ‘Office of International Cooperation’ under the Office of International Affairs. In the early 2000s, Hanyang University pioneered globalization of a university by establishing this dedicated department. As of 2025, Hanyang University is home to approximately 3,700 degree-seeking international students and 18,000 students on Korean language courses. Kim added, "Hanyang has become a benchmark for globalization and international student management systems. We can proudly say we are the top university in terms of internationalization."

Nan Jin-hong, a staff member of the bet365 토토사이트 Admissions Team, is in charge of career support for bet365 토토사이트 students. Drawing on her own experience as a foreigner finding employment in Korea, she has designed programs that provide practical help for the specific challenges students face. The flagship programs are the bet365 토토사이트 Student Career Camp and the After-Clinic.

The Career Camp is a two-day, one-night program where bet365 토토사이트 enjoy regional tours and cultural experiences while receiving comprehensive support, including resume workshops, interview attire and image consulting, and mock interviews. Following the camp, the After-Clinic provides continuous mentoring to analyze individual target companies and job roles, helping bet365 토토사이트 develop the necessary competencies. Additionally, the team offers one-on-one consulting for internships, contest preparation, and post-employment visa management.

Recommended programs by academic stage

Nan emphasized, "Since Hanyang prides itself on being number one in internationalization, we have a long history of supporting international student employment. Based on the tips accumulated through years of support, we have created a Career Success Roadmap. If students follow this roadmap well, they can receive immense help for their employment."

Nan suggested recommended programs for each academic stage. At an early stage, she emphasized on improving Korean language skills. Programs such as TOPIK Level 6 writing simulations and Business Korean program are highly recommended. For students in their intermediate stage of abroad studies, attending job-specific lectures, special sessions by foreigners already in the workforce, and corporate visit internships are recommended. "It is best to explore desired companies through such programs and then set specific plans through one-on-one consulting," she explained.

Finally, students having graduation ahead are recommended to participate in the Career Camp and Job Fairs for Foreigners. These fairs involve actual companies looking for international talents and provide direct interview opportunities. She further explained, “These programs help students on their resumes and prepare for interviews, and it can also lead to actual applications.”

Nan concluded her interview with a message to bet365 토토사이트 students:

"The International Admissions Team has prepared various programs to help students according to their individual situations and needs. If it is difficult to handle some parts alone, you can always reach us and have consultations. We hope you will be able to take on challenges actively."

Many were difficult and sometimes felt impossible,

but I wasn't alone

We also heard from Calvin Son (Department of Industrial Engineering, class of '22), who successfully found an employment opportunity through the team's programs.

As a senior, Calvin wanted to stay and work in Korea, but he lacked confidence in his skills and did not know where to start. After participating in the International Admissions Team’s career support programs, he gained both knowledge and confidence.

Particularly, he found the Career Camp, Job Fair, and After-Clinic helpful. At the camp, he learned about hiring trends in large corporations and practiced interviewing, while at the job fair, he received advice directly from HR managers. Later, he improved his skills through repeated consultations and mock interviews.

In his final semester, while balancing studies and part-time jobs, he steadily applied to various companies. He revised his cover letter daily and received constant feedback from the head of 'Buddies,' a student support group. One of the companies Calvin applied to was Samsung E&A. While waiting for his application results, he prepared for the GSAT(Global Samsung Aptitude Test) and interviews.

Thanks to his tireless efforts, Calvin received his final acceptance letter in late 2025. "I am very moved because it feels like my five years of studying abroad led to this result," he shared.

Calvin ended the interview with words for his juniors:

"At first, you will have difficulties in many things and even find them impossible sometimes. You might hesitate to even apply because you feel your skills are lacking. However, I want to tell you that these feelings are very natural and you are not alone. What matters is the courage to take that first step. I urge you to challenge yourself first.

As you go through each step, you will receive help and learn so much. You will discover potential you didn't even know you had and find new ways to solve problems. I sincerely hope for good results for all of you and will be cheering for you to get accepted into the organizations you dream of."
