Entrepreneurship is an activity with high entry barriers. Cho explained her motivation: "Thinking about starting a business alone filled me with fear. I wanted to experience entrepreneurship alongside my job search by utilizing the school's support systems." The Localit team's challenge dates back to 2024. By participating in the 'HYU Startup Forum & IR Demoday,' they felt stimulated and inspired by seniors and juniors who were seriously contemplating starting businesses.

This passion led to action through startup club activities. They refined their ideas through mentoring from experts in various fields and professors. Cho noted, "Initially, we focused so much on content production that we missed what users and regions actually required." Since then, they have adjusted their direction through repeated field experiences. They reflected feedback from participants and regional stakeholders into their item design. Realizing the need for a structure that accumulates human relationships as content and data, they refined their item into a community-based platform model.

This development was backed by activity grants. The initial funding broadened the scope of their experiments, and networking with fellow aspiring entrepreneurs was also helpful. "The experience of challenging ourselves together was a great driving force to continue," Cho stated. She added, "I was able to find courage thanks to the encouragement and support from the startup club managers.’

Jung Kyung-min(Master's student in the Department of Entrepreneurship) from the ‘Lab IFS’ team applied for the program with the mindset that "even if the preparation is lacking, the first step is meaningful." He applied the theories learned in his graduate classes to practice while participating in the startup club. Execution led to failure. "In the execution stage, I discovered problems that I couldn't anticipate through theory alone," he said. "I wouldn't have been able to identify these parts if it weren't for the startup club."

Jung repeated the cycle of 'Execution, Results, and Feedback.' Failure left him with growth and a sense of responsibility. "I grew through reviewing my failures," he said, "and at the same time, I felt the weight of responsibility that comes with entrepreneurship."

Participating in the program changed Cho's perception of entrepreneurship. "I used to think entrepreneurship was about succeeding with a grand idea all at once," she said. "Now I know it is a process of refining an item through repeated execution and failure." She added, "I have come to recognize entrepreneurship not as a short-term challenge, but as a long-term profession and career path."

Cho identified her aptitude through the experience of creating change via small actions. "It was surprising and enjoyable to realize that I could bring about change by meeting stakeholders in the field," she said. "Through practical experience, I realized what kind of environment allows me to be most immersed and grow." Regarding her future plans, she stated, "I want to utilize my aptitude to continue the challenge of finding answers to human and social problems rather than seeking stability."

Cho defined the startup club as "an important testing ground where one can repeat trial and error in a relatively safe environment." To Hanyangians considering entrepreneurship, she said, "Startup club activity is a training session for adjusting execution and failure even if things aren't perfect. Jung advised, "It is a special opportunity to execute an idea you've kept in the back of your mind in a less burdensome environment. I hope you use it to validate your item and see if entrepreneurship fits your aptitude." He added, "If it's hard to start alone, I recommend challenging yourself with like-minded people around you."
