Professor Hyun Kyung-hoon of the Department of Interior Architecture Design has been elected as a new member of the Young Korean Academy of Science and Technology(YKAST) for 2026. YKAST members are recognized as ‘top-tier young scientists who will lead the future,’ and serve a three-year term which is renewable until the age of 45.

Established in 2017, YKAST is Korea’s only ‘Young Academy,’ selecting researchers under the age of 45 with outstanding academic achievements. In particular, it selects next-generation science and technology leaders with high potential to contribute to the nation’s advancement, focusing on the achievements as independent researchers in Korea after receiving their doctoral degrees.
