Yoo Seung-ju, a staff member of the Hanyang University College of Engineering Administration Team, won the Outstanding Award at the ‘2025 Radiation Safety Culture Best Practice and Idea Contest’ held at the The Plaza Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, on December 14.

The contest was held during the ‘National Forum for Radiation Safety Managers,’ hosted by the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission and organized by the Korea Foundation of Nuclear Safety and the Korea Radiation Safety Association. The event served as a platform for radiation safety managers nationwide to gather and share cases aimed at spreading safety culture and creating voluntary safety management environments. From Hanyang University, Yoo and Deputy Manager Lee Hyun-young of the Campus Safety Team participated.

In the contest, Yoo introduced Hanyang University’s case of establishing a radiation safety management system under the theme ‘Establishment of Human and Material Radiation Safety Management System Using Smart Tag Devices,’ which implemented two types of smart tag devices and QR codes. His case received high praise for securing the safety of radiation workers and radiation users subject to reporting, and for establishing a management system to prevent accidents related to radioisotopes and radiation-generating devices.

Yoo, who participated in the ceremony as the representative of the award winners, shared his thoughts, saying, "As a radiation worker myself, I wanted to contribute to building a system which provides practical help to both safety managers and workers."
