On December 15, the Student Cafeteria on the 3rd floor at Hanyang Plaza, Hanyang University was crowded with students from early morning. As the event ‘Hanyang Restaurant: 1,000 Won Breakfast with Chef Lee Yeon-bok’ opened, a long line stretched out in front of the cafeteria. The breakfast was provided on a first-come, first-served basis, filling the stomachs of 400 Hanyang students. Let's take a look at this extra-special breakfast with Chef Lee Yeon-bok through photos.

새벽 6시, 학생식당 앞은 이미 대기하고 있는 학생들로 즐비했다. 가장 빠르게 온 한 학생은 언제 왔냐는 물음에 "새벽 5시 반부터 기다렸다"고 밝혔다. 학생들이 삼삼오오 모여들자 특별한 행사를 향한 기대감이 부풀어갔다.  At 6:00 a.m., the hallway out of the student cafeteria was already packed with waiting students. When asked when they arrived, the student at the very front of the line said, "I've been waiting since 5:30 a.m." As students gathered in groups of two or three, the expectations for this special event continued to grow.

On the day, Chef Lee Yeon-bok began cooking in the kitchen starting at 6:00 a.m. A volunteer group of celebrities also joined at 7:00 a.m. to assist with event preparations. Around 8:20 a.m., after much waiting, the food service began. Chef Lee, the celebrity volunteer group, and President Lee Ki-jeong stepped out to serve the breakfast to the students.

The menu of the 1,000-won breakfast consisted of Black Bean Sauce with Rice, Shrimp Toast, Xiaolongbao, chili bean paste(Doubanjiang) cucumber salad, egg soup, and yogurt drink. The black bean rice, loaded with seafood and meat, and the juicy, well-filled Xiaolongbao were particularly popular. Exclamations and reactions broke out here and there at the sight of a special breakfast, hard to believe it cost only 1,000 won. The hearty meal provided to 400 students made them full and satisfied, successfully concluding the event.
