Presented at the joint academic conference of the Korea Project Management Society and the Korea Association for Innovation Industry Studies

Professor Yang Jae-yong of the School of Interdisciplinary Industrial Studies, Graduate School of Technology & Innovation Management at Hanyang University has received the Best Paper Award at the 2025 Joint Academic Conference of the Korea Project Management Society and the Korea Association for Innovation Industry Studies, held on July 7 at the Ara Convention Hall of Jeju National University.

His award-winning paper, “A Study on the Factors Affecting the Acceptance of AI Coworkers,” was conducted as a joint research project with Professor Park Kwang-tae’s team from Korea University Business School, with support from the Korea Institute for the Advancement of Technology (KIAT). The research underscores the need for new strategies in utilizing AI from the perspective of human-AI collaboration, especially as AI adoption becomes increasingly widespread in industrial settings.

Perceptions of AI adoption remain mixed. While AI is praised for efficiently handling tasks beyond human capability, concerns persist regarding mass unemployment and algorithmic bias. Professor Yang stated, “Collaboration between humans and AI is no longer optional—it is a reality we must face, and we are now at a pivotal turning point.”

He further emphasized the importance of moving beyond the view of AI as a mere tool. In order for AI to be accepted as a ‘colleague’ within organizations, it is crucial to redesign jobs and organizational structures accordingly. Drawing on this perspective, the study integrates a range of interdisciplinary theories—such as Human-Machine Interaction Theory, the Theory of Social Presence, and Algorithm Aversion Theory—to analyze the factors that influence how humans come to accept AI as collaborative agents.

Professor Yang highlighted that trust and fairness are fundamental prerequisites for successful human-AI collaboration. “People expect AI not only to deliver accurate analysis and predictions but also to operate impartially and fairly,” he explained. “Only when these expectations are met can AI be genuinely accepted within organizational settings.”

This research was pr토토사이트 첫충sed not only for its academic contribution to the field of 토토사이트 첫충 acceptance but also for its potential applicability in real-world industrial contexts. Professor Yang plans to further refine the acceptance model in future studies and to propose industry-specific application frameworks t토토사이트 첫충lored to various sectors.
