Short-term internships offered for foreign students seeking jobs in Korea
The Hanyang International Summer School (HISS) is enjoying growing popularity among international students. Operated each summer by Hanyang University’s Office of International Affairs, the program has seen a significant surge in participation in recent years, driven in part by the global appeal of Korean content such as Squid Game. As interest in Korean culture rises, more international students are choosing HISS as their gateway to Korea.
HISS reflects this cultural enthusiasm by offering a variety of courses focused on Korean lifestyle and entertainment. Classes such as Korea Pop Dance, Korean Beauty and Make-up, and Art of Self Defense (Taekwondo) provide international students with immersive cultural experiences while also encouraging cross-cultural interaction with peers from around the world.

The number of students participating in HISS increased from 1,098 in 2023 to 1,710 in 2025, reflecting the program’s growing appeal. Many participants report a high level of satisfaction. Shugek, a student from Singapore, shared, “I’ve loved Girls’ Generation since I was 12. It’s been amazing to learn K-pop dance here in Korea and make Korean friends.”
This growing interest in Korean culture is also fueling interest in working in Korea. Responding to this trend, 롤 스포츠토토 University now offers a short-term internship program in collaboration with domestic startups. Participation in the internship program grew from three students last year to seventeen this year.

Professor Jeong Ran-soo, adjunct professor in the Department of Tourism, noted, “Among young international visitors, we’re seeing a rise in demand for ‘dailycations’—experiences that blend everyday life with leisure and culture.” He added, “As Korea’s school-age population continues to shrink, policy-level support such as expanded visa programs will be necessary to help turn short visits into long-term settlement opportunities.”
