A semester of changing the world through technology, in collaboration w토토사이트 로그인 없이h Kakao
On June 16, the Global 토토사이트 로그인 없이 Innovation Foundation of Hanyang University held the final presentations for the course 토토사이트 로그인 없이 Innovation Capstone PBL (Tech for Impact with Kakao) at the Chung Mong-Koo Future Automotive Research Center. The course, run in collaboration with the Kakao Impact Foundation, is a hands-on project-based learning class where students work with 토토사이트 로그인 없이 innovators throughout the semester to solve real-world problems using technology. During the event, eight teams shared the outcomes of their semester-long journey.

The event began with opening remarks from Yuk Sim-na, Vice President of ESG at Kakao Impact, followed by team presentations, judging, participant reflections, an awards ceremony, and a completion ceremony. Projects included practical solutions such as: ▲ “Safe Riding by Starlight”, a motorcycle safety training game for elderly rural residents; ▲ “Re:fact”, a fun and easy-to-understand recycling education game; and ▲ “DDAON”, a project with On:gi Post that fosters empathy through letter writing. Each team developed their ideas to a startup-level of execution, including data analysis, technical planning, and UI/UX design.

This course is part of the Tech for Impact Campus initiative by the Kakao Impact Foundation. After launching at KAIST last year, the program expanded this spring to include Hanyang University and Yonsei University, and will continue at KAIST, Seoul National University, and Gachon University in the fall. Its goal is to provide students with opportunities not only to analyze 토토사이트 로그인 없이 issues but to take ownership in solving them.
Throughout the semester, students worked in teams with social innovators, listening directly to voices from the field and collaborating with Kakao’s professional developers. Students defined problems, developed prototypes, and improved their solutions through user testing and feedback. Selected from a competitive pool of over 80 applicants, about 30 engineering students and 10 students majoring in social innovation convergence participated in this project-based learning experience.
From the field to the classroom: Delivering 토토사이트 로그인 없이 innovation through education
The course was co-taught by Shin Hyun-sang (Professor of School of Business Administration), Ryu Ho-hyon (Professor at the Graduate School of Business), and Yoo Jae-yeon (Professor of the 토토사이트 로그인 없이 Innovation Convergence major). Lead instructor Ryu Ho-hyon brings over a decade of experience as an engineer at Twitter and Airbnb in Silicon Valley, and later founded a 토토사이트 로그인 없이 venture in Korea, securing over 3 billion KRW in investment. He is currently the CEO of an AI startup and a senior researcher at the Taejae Future Strategy Institute, focusing on digital technology and the future of AI.
Professor Yoo Jae-yeon is a partner at Yellowdog, a 토토사이트 로그인 없이 impact venture capital firm that invests in and supports startups with a mission to create positive societal change. He aimed to share his field experience with students through this course.
“This class stands apart in that it’s not just about analyzing social issues in theory,” said Professor Yoo, “but about facing real problems and attempting real solutions. The students’ passion for solving social issues through technology was extraordinary.”

Professor Ryu continued, “I was truly impressed by the students’ planning and execution throughout the semester. It was moving to see how such a small seed could yield such real fruit. I hope this course becomes a catalyst for more people to take action for social impact.”
Professor Ryu Ho-hyon, who oversaw the course, also remarked, “Everyone gave it their all, and the results were both meaningful and impactful. I’m very proud of our students.”

Yubin Park, a 4th-year student in the Department of Information Systems, led the team Let’s Go Pick the Moon as project manager. She joined the course out of a desire to apply her tech skills to solve real-world 토토사이트 로그인 없이 issues.
Her team presented a project aimed at improving mobility safety for users of powered mobility aids—many of whom are elderly or have brain or physical disabilities. Partnering with impact startup Byulddareo Gaja, the project began by uncovering the lack of safety measures for these essential mobil토토사이트 로그인 없이y devices through interviews w토토사이트 로그인 없이h actual users.
“It was a project I poured my heart and soul into,” said Park. “I’m proud of what we accomplished and grateful for the chance to engage with real users and receive mentorship from professionals at a major company.”

Yoo Seohyun, a 4th-year student in the Department of Data Science, led team GominHanyang, which developed a dig토토사이트 로그인 없이al wr토토사이트 로그인 없이ing service using AI to support emotional recovery and expression among adolescents. Their idea dig토토사이트 로그인 없이ized On:gi Mailbox, a project by nonprof토토사이트 로그인 없이 On:gi, and incorporated large language models (LLMs) to encourage young users to express themselves.
“This was the most challenging course I’ve taken, but also the one I learned the most from,” said Yoo. “It’s a shame we didn’t get to fully deploy the program, but identifying overlooked social issues and actively designing solutions was incredibly meaningful.”
When asked who should take this course, Park replied, “Anyone who wants to go beyond academics and make real change should try this class. It’s a well-supported, high-impact experience.” Yoo added, “If you want to create change and grow through the process, this course will not disappoint.”
In the upcoming semester, a new course called Tech for Impact Practicum will support the development of these spring prototypes into deployable products. Professor Shin said, “This course was created to nurture changemakers who use enabling technologies to shape a better future,” and added, “We’ll continue improving the program to give Hanyang students world-class learning experiences.”
