Student Reflections

Kim Hyun-ho

“By chance, I had the opportunity to prepare for an international advertising competition alongside younger classmates from my department. While collaborating with students from various universities and majors came with its fair share of challenges, I learned and grew immensely in the process. Working with highly talented individuals toward a shared goal taught me how powerful creative synergy can truly be. What makes this experience even more meaningful is that the success we achieved came from the effort of fellow students from the Department of Applied Art. I hope to continue pursuing my dreams with the same passion and determination I gained from this journey.”

Kim Min-seo

“Throughout the entire preparation process, I kept thinking about how to present our work in the most intuitive and impactful way as an art director. Although working with people from different backgrounds wasn’t always easy, I found the experience deeply meaningful and rewarding. Advertising, after all, is about moving the hearts of those who see it. And to achieve that, it’s not just about fresh ideas—it’s about staying true to the message you want to deliver. When I heard the news about the awards, it felt especially fulfilling because it confirmed that our message had come across. Going forward, I want to create content that resonates deeply with people—not just videos that look good, but ones that inspire change.”

Oh Yeon-ji

“I believe that advertisements that fail to consider people ultimately go unnoticed. This international competition reaffirmed that belief. Over the past few months, as we brainstormed with students from different universities, I gained valuable insight into how advertising can meaningfully contribute to society. I’m particularly proud that I was able to take part in this effort alongside my classmates. I will continue striving to become a creative director who makes a real impact.”

Cho Ye-won

“I was fortunate to be given this amazing opportunity to participate in an international competition, and I’m thrilled that our hard work paid off with such great results. As I worked on both planning and design, I often felt like I was bringing a living, breathing idea to life. Developing an idea and shaping it into visual and video materials was not easy, but I learned a lot from how our team’s thoughts came together into one cohesive narrative. I believe that advertising is more than just delivering a message—it has the power to move hearts and inspire change. As someone pursuing a career in this field, I want to keep creating meaningful ideas and messages that connect with people. Thank you.”

Meanwhile, the university alliance team also submitted several entries to the Busan International Marketing Advertising Festival (MAD STARS). The final results will be announced at the awards ceremony scheduled to take place in Haeundae, Busan, on August 29, and will also be available on the festival’s official website.
