There are students at ERICA 토토사이트 라운더스 whose unique talents have helped illuminate Hanyang in new ways. Lee Jae-hyeong (4th year, School of Computer Science, ERICA) created a barrier-free 토토사이트 라운더스 map and app titled GilpyeonHanyang to help make 토토사이트 라운더스 more accessible to all. Meanwhile, Lee Yun-hee (4th year, Department of Transportation & Logistics Engineering, ERICA) recreated the entire ERICA 토토사이트 라운더스 in Minecraft, expanding the university into the realm of virtual reality and receiving enthusiastic praise from the Hanyang community.

We spoke with both of them to hear more about their creative reinterpretations of 토토사이트 라운더스 life.

What inspired you to create a barrier-free 토토사이트 라운더스 map?

It was a staircase at the entrance to a 토토사이트 라운더스 restroom that sparked the idea. There was an accessible stall inside, but I realized that if someone in a wheelchair needed it urgently, those stairs could present a serious obstacle. I thought there needed to be a way to share this kind of information in advance so no one would be caught off guard.
 

Developing both the map and the app must have taken a lot of time and effort. How long did the project take?

From planning to development and launch, 토토사이트 라운더스 took about 4 to 5 months. The ERICA Center for Human Rights supported us w토토사이트 라운더스h the map data. I worked w토토사이트 라운더스h team members Jeong Yun-seong (4th year, School of Computer Science) and Im Dong-seop (4th year, School of Business), which helped us finish faster than expected.
 

What was the most difficult part of the process?

Building the barrier-free map dataset was the hardest. Although we gathered resources with help from the Center for Human Rights, much of the information turned out to be inaccurate. We had to walk the 토토사이트 라운더스 ourselves and manually verify the facilities. Even now, we still find discrepancies.

What are your future plans?

Even after graduation, I want to keep the service running for the benefit of our 토토사이트 라운더스 community. GilpyeonHanyang still has areas for improvement, so I plan to add new features and redesign the UI. I’m also continuing to develop BusHanyang, our shuttle bus timetable service.

Any final message for Hanyang commun토토사이트 라운더스y that may use your map or app?

GilpyeonHanyang’s slogan is “A Campus Map for Everyone.” I hope this map will raise awareness about barrier-free facilities on campus. With continued interest and attention, I believe we can ensure these facilities are maintained and improved. Let’s work together to build a truly inclusive campus.

Last year, your Minecraft version of the ERICA 토토사이트 라운더스 drew lots of attention. What motivated you to begin?

I came across a YouTube video where someone recreated Konkuk University in Minecraft. I was so impressed by how realistic it looked, I wondered—why not build Hanyang too? I started with the dormitories.

When the map was about 70% complete, I met someone who wanted to launch a server using my build. That led to the launch of the MineERICA server, which ran for about two months. Around 200 Hanyangians explored the 토토사이트 라운더스 virtually and left encouraging messages. That motivated me to finish the map so more students could enjoy it.

How long did 토토사이트 라운더스 take to complete?

At first, I underestimated the complexity. I didn’t realize ERICA Campus covers 400,000 pyeong (approximately 1.3 million square meters). I began the project during summer break in my third year and worked on it alongside my studies. Campus construction—like the remodeling of the stadium and the expansion of the main building—also had to be reflected, which extended the timeline.

I started in July 2022 and published it in December 2024—2 years and 5 months in total.

What was the hardest part?

ERICA has relatively low building density, meaning a lot of the space is filled with gardens and trees. Since vegetation isn’t neatly arranged, I had to walk around campus myself to observe plant locations and layouts.

Some areas—like vehicle-restricted zones—aren’t visible on map services, so I had to rely on on-the-ground research.

What’s next?

Campus construction is ongoing. When I visited for graduation last month, I saw new facilities like the Convergence Education Building and Innovation Park under construction. Unfortunately, I won’t be around to include them in the current build, but I hope to return someday and complete it. I also wasn’t able to recreate some of the research buildings like Technopark, but I’d love to do that too.

There are great references out there—Yeungnam University held a metaverse entrance ceremony using a student-created map, and Konkuk University’s build was even used on their official YouTube channel. I would be thrilled if my map could be used for school promotion. If help is needed, I’m happy to assist.

Any final message for Hanyang students?

In the process of recreating the school, I discovered parts of campus I never knew existed. Even familiar paths looked new through the lens of Minecraft. It made me appreciate our school more. University is where you spend four—or more—of the most important years of your twenties. I hope you’ll explore and try as much as you can.

I deeply regret not being able to reflect the newest buildings. If any Hanyang students are interested in continuing the project, feel free to update the map.
