● A total of 72 teams applied and four competed in the final

Hanyang University (President Lee Ki-jeong) announced that it held "The 2nd Askthon" on November 19th at the international conference room in the Paiknam Library & Academic Information Center. Askthon is a question competition founded on QBL (Question-Based Learning), an education innovation model newly established by President Lee Ki-jeong.
Askthon, a combination of "ask" and "hackathon," is a competition that Hanyang University first introduced last year to promote "active thoughts through questions" and "depth of sophisticated thoughts" by using students' infinite knowledge and curiosity. The competition is an opportunity where students can experience the value of a university's education innovation, considering that it was started with an important question that the university threw to itself: "In the age of AI, what kind of talents do you need to be?"
To ensure students can better experience QBL's effects and values, this year's 롤 스포츠토토 focused on question formulation and exploration process. 72 teams from both Seoul and ERICA attended the event, and four teams made it to the final to compete with each other after going through the preliminary paper review and main round video vote.
In the final, a total of nine judges, including President Lee Ki-jeong; Vice President Chung Hyun-chul; Director Kim Min-kyoung, Center For Industry Coupled Problem Based Learning; Vice President Choi Jee-woong, Office of Innovative Higher Education; Associate Vice President Kim Tae-sun, Office of International Affairs; Professor Kim Beom-joon (Sungkyunkwan Univers롤 스포츠토토y), science Youtuber/influencer; Kim Ye-seong, a business consultant at Kakao Pay; Choi Jae-gil, AI Development General Manager at Kakao Pay; Byeon Hye-jeong, Director at Coupang, worked together to make a fair evaluation. Four teams competing in the final showcased each other's questions through field presentation, followed by a time for feedback by judges.
The result of the competition is as follows, ▲ First place: "What constitutes an irreplaceable talent in the age of AI?" by PHILOGMA (Department of Philosophy, College of Humanities, Seoul, Im Chan-oh, Kim Hae-chan, Nah Seung-jae, Lee Soo-hyeok), ▲ Second place: "How much impact a click of the skip-ads button would have on the future?" by Butterfly Effect (Department of Advertising & Public Relations, College of Communication, ERICA, Park Jong-beom, Kim Se-hoon, Jang Ji-young), ▲ Third place: "Does happiness come with a longer life?" by Intelectus (Department of Chemical Engineering, College of Engineering, Seoul, Choi Joon-won, Kim Hyo-gyeong, Jang Hyeon-joon, Kim Min-je), ▲ Third place: "Are emotions exclusive to humans?" by CRACKER (Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, College of Engineering Sciences, ERICA, Kwon Hyeon-ho, Lee Jeong-gyu; Department of Korean Language & Literature, College of Languages & Cultures, Jeon Min-ji; Department of Robotics, College of Engineering, Lee Jong-il)
"In the area where the value of questions and experience has gotten more important, I want Hanyang University students to find new answers without being afraid of questions," said President Lee Ki-jeong. "I hope participants and observers have an informative time at the competition."
"Through the Askthon, we realized that questions are the starting point while also setting the direction," said the winner of the grand prize, PHILOGMA. "For people like us who have been educated to find answers, the competition was a very meaningful time when we could learn the value and importance of QBL"
Hanyang University will continue to hold Askthon to support everything it can to help students grow into "actively exploring learners." In addition, it plans to help students with in-depth learning in the process of defining problems and finding solutions by themselves based on the QBL model, and it will strengthen various education innovation activities so that can develop into talents that global society demands.
