Professor Ham explained, "The core role of the center is to identify, based on data, how the long-lasted educational efforts affect students, and in what way they are effective, for which students."
Based on the vast amount of data accumulated at the Seoul and ERICA campuses, the Hanyang IDEA 더탑 토토사이트 intends to sophisticatedly identify students' developmental experiences and educational outcomes. The name 'IDEA' also stands for Institutional Data and Educational Analytics, signifying the professional execution of institutional data analysis and educational analysis. Through such analysis, the 더탑 토토사이트 aims to understand student experiences in education more deeply and achieve practical educational innovation.
The center designated its first year as the year of data construction. While data in various areas such as academic records, course history, extracurricular activities, course satisfaction level, and career paths have been accumulating, there was previously no organization to comprehensively organize and analyze them. Professor Ham said, "The amount of data is truly vast, but it was not systematically organized, so we put great effort into identifying the structure of the school data." The center will conduct the 'H-IDEA Student Survey' for the first time at the end of this year. Its official name is the ‘Investigation of Developmental Experiences and Achievements,’ and is a survey that records student experiences and growth from before admission until after graduation in a panel format. Its purpose is to examine important experiences that are not captured through automatically accumulated university data alone, such as personal challenges, informal learning, and personal changes during various activities.
This survey is scheduled to be conducted annually, replacing the existing surveys used for checking grades, and will serve as the foundation for tracking student growth paths in the long term. Professor Ham explained that the data to be collected through this survey has immense utility value, stating, "It is a survey designed to identify how students change and at which educational intersections growth occurs."
The H-IDEA Student Survey is a core tool for designing educational policies based on student experience. The participation of each and every student is important. Professor Ham encouraged participation in the survey as follows:
"The Student Survey is a survey for the students. The university will actually change depending on the answers students provide. You can also convey your thoughts and suggestions through open-ended questions. The university will sincerely and closely look into your responses."
By the end of the year, the Hanyang IDEA 더탑 토토사이트 will also conduct the H-WE Survey to identify the work experiences of not only students but also staff and faculty. This survey, which stands for H-Workplace Experience, collects the experiences of the members who support student education. The collected data will be used to identify and improve the overall educational ecosystem.

The center has shared analysis results with students and staff by holding monthly colloquiums. Discussions mainly consist of interpreting analysis results by department and deriving directions for improvement. Professor Ham explained, "The IDEA Center values 'sharing' as much as data analysis," and "Because interpretations can vary depending on the perspective even for the same results, we view the communication and feedback process are very important."
As such, the Hanyang IDEA Center aims to record students' growth experiences in the long term and practice sophisticated educational innovation based on them. Professor Ham said, "We launched this center to better know our students' experiences and to expand those experiences in an enhanced direction," and added, "The data students send us will ultimately return as positive changes for the students."
