Unicore Robotics(Professor Kang Chang-mook as CEO), a startup from Hanyang University, participated in the APEC 2025 KOREA ‘K-Tech Showcase’ held in Gyeongju from October 28 to 31, where it unveiled its next-generation autonomous personal mobility technology. The exhibition drew significant attention as it provided an international platform for a domestic startup with global leaders gathered at one place to directly demonstrate the solution for autonomous driving that seamlessly integrates AI and robotics.

Unicore Robotics introduced its real-time autonomous driving technology, which is powered by its integrated operating system, UNI-OS. Key products displayed included the autonomous personal mobility device ‘Nuri-go™’ and the patrol robot ‘Jiki-go™’. The UNI-OS effectively integrates sensor data fusion, AI-powered decision-making, and precise control functions, allowing the robots to independently perceive their environment and plan/execute optimal routes. Specifically, the system enhances obstacle recognition and avoidance capabilities through AI-based SLAM technology combining LiDAR and cameras, ensuring stable movement even in complex indoor and outdoor environments.

The company also highlighted its progress in advancing user-customized autonomous driving technology through the national project ‘Development of Hyper-Personalized Personal Mobility Service Design.’ This research involves developing an AI module that implements customized driving based on the user's movement patterns, purpose, and environmental data. This is being further expanded into an autonomous driving algorithm that actively learns and adapts to individual mobility experiences.

Professor Kang Chang-mook, CEO of Unicore Robotics and a professor in Hanyang University's Department of Electrical Engineering, who led the exhibition, stated, "Autonomous driving is no longer confined to the automotive industry; it is expanding across personal mobility and public services. Building upon the momentum of the APEC exhibition, Unicore Robotics plans to expand its autonomous driving demonstrations in various settings, including smart cities, public institutions, and airports. The company is poised to actively pursue the full-scale commercialization of personal mobility by strengthening its global partnerships.
