Utilizing space and talent in university through collaboration among the city, autonomous districts, and the university
A startup support program discovering and nurturing entrepreneur teams

Hanyang University has been selected as a participating university for Seoul’s Campus Town project and will receive support totaling approximately 1.2 billion KRW over two years. The program is a startup support initiative where the city, local governments, and universities collaborate to utilize university resources and talent to discover and nurture startup teams.

Among the 13 selected universities, Hanyang University will receive 1.2 billion KRW annually over two years to foster more than 50 startup companies per year, focusing on specialized fields unique to each school. Universities with outstanding outcomes can have their projects extended for up to two additional years, while support for those underperforming can be cut off.

Through this project, the city will focus on supporting promising startups in advanced industries like artificial intelligence(AI) and biotechnology and promote their global expansion. The goal is to cultivate at least 39 'baby unicorns'—companies valued between 30 billion KRW and 100 billion KRW—by 2030.

Hanyang University plans to leverage this selection for Campus Town project as momentum to intensify its support for startups and increasing the number of jobs for youth while leading the creation of a globally competitive startup ecosystem.
