In September 2024, the "Homeless World Cup" will take place at Hanyang University for the first time in Asia. The Homeless World Cup, together with the Hanyang University Volunteer Corps which celebrated its 30th anniversary as a first in the nation, will last for 7 days starting from September 21st to 28th.

Ever since it joined AshokaU, a network of social innovation universities, as a first in East Asia in April 2018–Hanyang University continues to be the only AshokaU Change Maker Campus (a university and tertiary education institution that AshokaU selected for centering education on social innovation and entrepreneurship) in the nation.

"Some people are in a vulnerable situation of not even being able to find the housing right in a skewed field no matter how they try," adding "I hope this World Cup enables many homeless people to secure a space where they can maintain a bare minimum as a human being," she said. "Through the Homeless World Cup, I hope the socially disadvantaged homeless people who are outside the reach of the system get to experience support among crowds and be motivated to make both economically and emotionally independent living."

In addition, Kim said, "Recognizing the issues by the younger generation is in desperate needs as attention on housing rights from younger generation must be preceded to raise awareness from the older generations and society as a whole."
