Expanding co-research and human resource exchange in climate, carbon, and clean technology fields
On January 17, Hanyang University Institute for Energy and the Environment ("HY-IEE" hereafter) announced that it signed an MOU with the Hyundai Research Institute ("HRI" hereafter) for co-research in energy and environment fields.
At the ceremony, Dean Kim Yeon-kyu (Graduate School of International Studies) and Director Eom Gu-ho (Asia-Pacific Research Center), Professor Ryu Joo-han (Global Strategy and Intelligence Studies), Vice Director Kim Sung-jung (HY-IEE), Professor Kim Yu-ri and Professor Choi Yong (School of International Studies), Director Heo Yong-seok (HRI), Director Park Uk-beom (International Cooperation Center), Researcher Lee Sang-il, Cho Moon-young, and Jeong Yoo-jin took place.

The agreement was prepared to expand cooperation in energy and environment-related research and relevant projects.
According to the agreement, both institutions decided to work together in overseas recyclable energy development, green industrial complex and green infrastructure city development, ESG, climate change policy and supply modeling, climate, clean, carbon technology such as future atomic energy, new materials, electricity, and hydrogen infrastructure.
Also, they agreed to actively cooperate in human resource exchange and cultivation through expanding network exchanges such as holding relevant forums and discussion sessions and international cooperation seminars, supporting education course openings, internship program operation, and hiring outstanding graduates as a consultant.
Director Kim Yeon-kyu said, "To the School of International Studies and Graduate School of International Studies, we are emphasizing education courses and on-site education related to recent climate changes and ESG legalization trends. I think the cooperation with the HRI can be a good opportunity for students."
Director Heo Yong-seok of the HRI said, "Following the national policy, we are empowering research groups for the official development assistance and making the projects in detail. I wish this can be continued as a research group exchange and project cooperation in various energy and environment fields."
