Announced on September 24, Hanyang University Seoul Campus ranked 5th in the Korea Times'‘Leading University in Internationalization’ Evaluation.

The Korea Times conducted this evaluation for the first time this year, assessing the internationalization status of 54 four-year universities nationwide and providing information for international students. The evaluation weighted globalization-related indicators heavily at 63.2%, drawing scores from 22 detailed indicators across four categories: education, research, student support, and alumni achievements and impact. The evaluation placed greater weights on factors relevant to factors relevant for international students to consider, such as diversity of enrolled nationalities, scholarship programs, and retention rates.

Hanyang University earned 124.83 points out of 190, securing 5th place overall. The university received particularly high scores in education and research. Evaluators noted that Hanyang University not only attracts international students but also creates an effective educational environment for them while practicing meaningful mutual exchanges. In addition, in the research category, Hanyang University Seoul Campus ranked 6th and the ERICA Campus ranked 8th, demonstrating strong academic performance. This outcome highlights that universities outside metropolitan Seoul, when equipped with a readily-made global network and high-quality research capacity, can successfully compete with institutions in the metropolitan areas.
