Winter break company visit and field training program
Helping students explore career and strengthen their expertise
Hanyang University ERICA Shared Ai-Robotics Education (Share) Center (Director Park Tae-joon) announced that it successfully hosted the "winter break company visit and field training program" for two days on January 8 and 15.
The Shared Ai-Robotics Education Center is a part of the "Convergence and Open Sharing System Project," sponsored by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea, and with Hanyang University ERICA being the administering university, seven universities, including Kwangwoon University, Pukyong National University, Sangmyung University, Yeungjin University, Chosun University, and Korea Polytechnic University are part of the project. The project aims to nurture talents with global competitiveness through integrated thinking and collaboration in the advanced industry field.
This field training program was designed to provide students with opportunities to visit companies related to intelligent robots and gain practical industry experience. The companies selected for the visits included HYBUSE&C and IR Robot in Chunui Technopark 1; and Maro Robot Tech and Goyoung Robotics in Bucheon Technopark. These companies are gaining recognition in the domestic and international robotics industry by developing cutting-edge technologies and products related to intelligent robots.
The company visit program began with a tour of the headquarters of each company. Students had a hands-on experience with key products and technologies. The lectures given by field experts introduced the companies’ technological strengths, ongoing projects, and competitive strategies in the global market. In particular, the lectures covered cases of advanced robotic technologies applied across various industries, methods of connecting theory to practice, and the future direction of the robotics industry, all of which played a significant role in inspiring the students' technical passion and vision.
The subsequent Q&A session provided a meaningful opportunity for students to ask technical questions they had been curious about and receive career advice.
"I hope this company visit serves as an important opportunity for students to experience real-world applications of advanced technology," said Park Tae-joon (Professor of the Department of Robotics), Director of the Shared Ai-Robotics Education Center. "We will continue to expand field-based programs to nurture interdisciplinary talents who will lead the robotics industry."
"It was a meaningful experience to directly encounter cutting-edge technologies in industrial settings, which are not normally available in classrooms," said Lee Sang-yeop, a student of the Department of Marine Science and Convergence Engineering of Hanyang University ERICA. "I gained a lot of inspiration for my career through the lectures by industry experts."
Meanwhile, the Shared Ai-모먼트 토토사이트 Education Center plans to offer more programs in the future to provide students with various experiential opportunities.
