Tech for Impact Campus: Classes planning and developing ‘assisting technologies’ to solve 토토사이트 로그인 넘기기 issues
"Recommended for Hanyangians who want to move beyond problem awareness into action"
토토사이트 로그인 넘기기 for Impact courses scheduled to open for the first semester of 2026
In 2024, the Hanyang University Global Social Innovation Foundation signed a business agreement with Kakao Impact, the social contribution foundation under Kakao, to promote the 'Tech for Impact Campus.' Tech for Impact Campus is a project-based class that plans and develops technical solutions for social issues, aiming to nurture ‘talents to help the world with technology’ demanded in the AI era.
The first Tech for Impact class at Hanyang University opened in the first semester of 2025. The Department of Social Innovation opened the course ‘Social Innovation Capstone PBL: Tech for Impact with Kakao,’ recruiting 40 students and grouping them into eight teams to carry out projects. Three teams with outstanding performance and motive for follow-up development further refined their technical solutions through the ‘Tech for Impact Practicum’ course offered in the second semester.
A class cultivating innovators to solve 토토사이트 로그인 넘기기 problems
Professor Yoo Jae-yeon of the Global Social Innovation Foundation, who has worked in venture capital and social contribution, stated, "The goal of the class is to create innovators who can develop tech-based solutions to solve social problems and scale them up." Professor Yoo conducted the class with an emphasis on defining social problems, touchpoints with users, and the completeness of the projects. "There could be moments of exhaustion during projects," she said. "As a professor, I play the role of a pace maker who encourages them from the side." Professor Yoo explained that technology that helps people and the world is "one of the ways to solve the countless problems occurring between people." She emphasized, "Technology involves a lot of capital and concentrated energy, so it must be used as well as possible for the benefit of humanity."
Hearing the voices of actual users
Park Yoo-bin(Department of Information Systems, Senior) carried out a project with 'Byeolttareogaja'(Let's Go Pick Stars), an impact startup dealing with mobility rights. She developed a service that manages the repair history of motorized mobility aids and shares information. In the second semester, she added features to measure the activity levels of those with limited mobility using GPS and recommend health-beneficial activities through AI. In collaboration with the Seongdong General Social Welfare Center, 20 people participated in field application tests, and 100 additional users were secured through the Eunpyeong-gu Motorized Mobility Aid Repair Center. This technology was introduced at the Korea Social Value Festa, where it was given a presentation opportunity. Park recalled, "Taking the service to the welfare center and hearing the voices of actual users was the most impressive moment during the project." She added, "The Tech for Impact class is the only opportunity to develop results through field operations and feedback. In particular, Kakao helped us access the field easily, and the advice from professional mentors was a great source of strength."
Starting from empathy for the problem, not just a solution
Hwang Ji-bin(Department of Data Science, Senior) and Cho Yeon-soo(Department of Public Administration, Senior) worked on a project with 'Ongi,’ an impact startup that delivers anonymous, handwritten letters in response to letters of concern. Their team developed a new app that combines the handwritten letter service with youth issues to solve phenomena of depression and isolation. After two complete overhauls, the third version, the 'Haru-girokso'(Record-the-Day Shop) app, received positive responses from users. With this technology, they won the Grand Prize at the Hult Prize Hanyang University preliminary round.
Hwang stated, "While doing the project for a year, I wasn't sure if I was doing well, but the positive reviews from users confirmed that our direction wasn't wrong." Cho emphasized, "There is a message even within lightness. We pursued a friendly method that provides a small help in daily life." Hwang noted, "With the advancement of AI, the hurdles for creating technology that helps our lives have been significantly lowered." Regarding technology that helps people and the world, Cho replied, "This is a technology started from empathy for the problem, rather than just offering a solution." Hwang said, "I recommend this class to students who have problem awareness and want to move into action." Cho added, "Great synergy occurs when people with different worldviews, such as engineering and liberal arts, or developers and social innovators, blend together. I hope you experience collaborating with people of different backgrounds through this class."
Hope for interest and active participation from Hanyangians
Shin Hyun-sang, Director of the Global Social Innovation Foundation, said regarding technology that helps people and the world, "It is technology that benefits people and the world by solving various social problems, which is closely related to social innovation." Director Shin stated, "Since the establishment of the Global Social Innovation Foundation in 2023, various curricular and extracurricular programs have been opened to provide the knowledge and experience of social innovation necessary to solve global social problems." However, he expressed regret, saying, "It is a bit disappointing that student interest about the programs is somewhat lacking," and urged, "I hope for a lot of interest and active participation from students in the future."
The Tech for Impact class will be opened in the first semester of this year, and 30 students will be divided into six teams for the course. Director Shin stated, "We plan to provide more in-depth mentoring and feedback than last year." Professor Yoo said, "The goal for this year is to have at least three teams continue with follow-up development."
