The Center for Future Culture Convergence at Hanyang University (Director: Kim Sung-soo) will co-host its 4th annual academic conference with the Institute for National Strategy of Hanyang University on Tuesday, June 25, at 4 p.m. in Room 415 of the Social Science Building. The conference will be held under the theme “Korean Social Change and the Globalization of K-Culture.”

This event marks the final session in a series of academic conferences that have taken place over the past three months. It will serve as a comprehensive discussion, integrating the previous themes while examining the structural transformations of Korean society—industrialization, democratization, and globalization—in connection with the global expansion of K-culture.

The earlier conferences were held in three sessions. The first conference, held on March 26, focused on “Korea’s Industrialization and K-Culture,” analyzing how rapid industrialization influenced Korean social structures and public consciousness. The second conference, on April 30, addressed “Korea’s Democratization and K-Culture,” highlighting how the expansion of freedom of expression and social diversity after democratization contributed to the formation of K-culture and its global resonance. The third conference, on May 28, examined “Korea’s Globalization and K-Culture,” exploring the emergence and spread of Hallyu (Korean Wave) through digital platforms and how Korean identity and universality can coexist.

The upcoming fourth conference will comprehensively discuss the historical foundations of K-토토사이트 라이타, its social characteristics, and its sustainability as a global cultural phenomenon, based on the continuity of these three keywords.

Director Kim Sung-soo remarked, “Through this year’s series of academic conferences, we were able to gain insights into how K-culture has evolved beyond a mere trend, shaped and expanded within Korea’s historical and structural context,” adding, “It has been a valuable opportunity to academically explore the potential and sustainability of K-culture’s globalization.”
