Hanyang University ERICA (President Lee Ki-jeong) announced that three of its laboratories received the ‘2024 Excellent Laboratory Safety Management Certification’ from the Ministry of Science and ICT during the certification review process.

The ‘Excellent Laboratory Safety Management Certification Program,’ which aims to strengthen safety management capabilities by establishing autonomous safety management systems in laboratories, evaluates safety management systems, activity levels, safety awareness, and other factors, awarding certification to laboratories that demonstrate excellence in these areas.

At Hanyang University ERICA, the following labs were certified as ‘Excellent Laboratory Safety Management Labs’: ▲ Molecular Biology Laboratory (College of Pharmacy, Professor Ryou Chong-seok) ▲Bioorganic Chemistry Laboratory (College of Pharmacy, Professor Nam Tae-gyu) ▲Molecular Pharmaceutical Research Laboratory (College of Science and Convergence Technology, Professor Jeong Dong-tak)

To celebrate and encourage the certified labs, the ERICA Campus Safety Team held a ‘2024 Excellent Laboratory Safety Management Certification Award Ceremony’ on Thursday, February 20th. During the ceremony, the labs presented their safety management systems and efforts, committing to maintaining a safe research environment moving forward.

The Vice President for ERICA Campus Baek Dong-hyun expressed his gratitude, saying, “We appreciate the hard work of many professors and students in promoting laboratory safety management,” and added, “We hope this opportunity will help spread the culture of laboratory safety management.”

At the ceremony, Lee Cho-rong, a student safety officer from the Molecular Pharmaceutical Research Laboratory, shared, “The certification process was a great opportunity to establish an effective safety management system for our laboratory,” and further stated, “Thanks to this certification, we will continue to strengthen our management procedures to maintain a safe research environment.”

The ERICA Campus 와이즈 토토 Team, which is responsible for ensuring 와이즈 토토 across the campus, plans to gradually apply the 와이즈 토토 management systems and guidelines to other laboratories, with the goal of increasing the number of excellent laboratories on campus.
