Hanyang University (President Lee Ki-jeong) announced on the 14th that its volleyball team claimed the championship title at the 2025 Hyundai Capital National University Volleyball Championship in Danyang, held from July 30 to August 7 at the Danyang National Sports Center in North Chungcheong Province. This marks the team’s first championship win in seven years since their victory at the 2018 Dongyang Environment Cup National University Volleyball Championship in Cheongyang.
The tournament, hosted and organized by the Korea University Volleyball Federation, was a nationwide competition that crowned champions through finals in both the men’s and women’s divisions. In the men’s Division A final, Hanyang University defeated Chosun University with a set score of 3–1 (25–22, 25–21, 19–25, 25–23) to secure the title.
In the final match on August 7, Hanyang seized the momentum in the first set with Im Dong-gyun’s consecutive service aces and stable receptions, achieving a 73% attack success rate. The second set was led by Lee Soo-min’s smart plays and a service ace from Jeong Sung-won, while in the fourth set, Song Won-jun’s back-to-back service aces sealed the victory and energized the court.
During the awards ceremony, Hanyang University swept several individual honors, including:

In addition, Coach Song Byeong-il was awarded Best Coach of the tournament.
Coach Song commented, “This meaningful victory was only possible because our players stayed focused and gave their all until the very end. We will use this achievement as a stepping stone to reach even greater goals for the Hanyang volleyball program.”
