In particular, the center stands out in smart manufacturing education by offering elective courses and extracurricular programs during both regular semesters and breaks. It provides hands-on training in advanced technologies such as collaborative robots and 3D printing, creating an environment where students can learn both theory and practical skills. "Smart manufacturing goes beyond the scope of simple process automation; it is a core challenge of modern industry that seeks efficiency and innovation simultaneously," said Professor Lee Tae-young, Center for Creative Convergence Education. In the elective course "Understanding of Robots," students use Universal Robots' collaborative robots to gain hands-on experience with hardware and learn practical skills. In addition, the course "Understanding of Smart Devices" allows students to create and control their own robotic hardware using various sensors and actuators.

These courses are easily accessible not only to engineering majors but also to non-engineering students. It provides an interdisciplinary experience where students from diverse backgrounds collaborate to solve problems. Professor Lee said, "In today’s society, where advanced industries continue to evolve, even fields seemingly unrelated to engineering, such as marketing and business, can be significantly impacted by whether an individual has experience with advanced devices."

The center’s educational philosophy is based on Industry Coupled Problem Based Learning (IC-PBL. By focusing on real-world problems students may encounter in the industry, students learn creative approaches to problem-solving. Experiencing and solving industry-relevant challenges helps students gain practical knowledge about business operations or demands from industries while also fostering a sense of accomplishment.

In addition to regular courses during the semester, the center offers various extracurricular programs during winter and summer breaks. One notable program is collaborative robots and 3D printing training. This program allows students to have hands-on experience with state-of-the-art equipment and refine their ideas. Professor Lee stressed, "As students gain firsthand experience with the hardware they may encounter in their careers or in graduate schools, they receive support in making their plan more concrete."

The center continuously develops educational programs that reflect the latest technologies and industry trends. These efforts ensure that students remain competitive in a rapidly evolving technological landscape. "The center is not just a place for acquiring knowledge but a platform for turning imagination into reality," said Professor Lee, as he encouraged students to actively participate in his program.

He continued, "The future industry requires more than just technical proficiency: It demands the ability to integrate technologies and create new value," adding, as he further elaborated on the center's vision, "I hope that many students, regardless of their major, develop an interest in science and actively utilize this center."
