Hanyang International Summer School (HISS) holds opening ceremony with over 1,700 participants from 50 countries
Hanyang University hosted the opening ceremony for the 2025 Hanyang International Summer School (HISS) on June 30 at the Olympic Gymnasium on its Seoul Campus.
This year’s HISS welcomed more than 1,700 students from over 50 countries. Participants will spend four weeks taking part in 77 courses covering fields such as engineering, business, and Korean studies, as well as joining around 20 extracurricular activities including club programs, Korean cultural experiences, and sports events.
Notably, a new trilateral exchange program among universities from Korea, China, and Japan was introduced this year. After completing the domestic schedule, about 60 participants will travel to Tongji University in Shanghai, China, and Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan, where they will engage in local classes and cultural activities for a week.
HISS has become one of Hanyang University’s flagship international programs, offering students from around the world the opportunity to experience academic and cultural exchange on campus each year.
