HTPeo, a Student Startup Developing AI-Based bts 토토사이트 Sorting Solution, Wins Minister of Environment Award

Yu Jun-sang: “Transforming bts 토토사이트 into assets—and into data” Introducing the bts 토토사이트 Handler: A single-entry, AI-powered sorting bin Fourth-generation prototype ready for release: “Driving ESG through data”

HTPeo (Help the People), a youth-led startup, recently won the grand prize—the Minister of Environment Award—at the 2025 Environmental Data Utilization and Analysis Contest.

HTPeo has developed the bts 토토사이트 Handler, an AI-based automatic bts 토토사이트 sorting solution. Unlike conventional multi-slot bins, the bts 토토사이트 Handler features a single entry point and classifies bts 토토사이트 into general, recyclable, and high-value recyclable categories using a proprietary AI algorithm that analyzes material and contamination levels.

“We’re thrilled that our three years of R&D and one year of commercialization efforts have been recognized,” said Yu Jun-sang, a second-year student in the School of Data Science at Hanyang University. “Our goal is to transform waste into both physical and data assets, contributing to solutions for social and environmental issues.”

From High School Roommates to Co-Founders of Help the People

HTPeo, short for Help the People, embodies the team’s mission to build technology-driven infrastructure that helps people and the planet.

Yu and his co-founder, Kang Woo-hyuk (Kyung Hee University), first met as dorm roommates in high school. They often stayed up late debating social issues like education and the environment. Their idea for HTPeo emerged after witnessing firsthand how poorly bts 토토사이트 sorting was practiced, even after formal instruction.

Grounded in mutual trust, the two decided to start a business together. Yu now leads project management and ESG strategy, while Kang focuses on bts 토토사이트 development and patent work.

“Today’s recycling system relies too heavily on individual knowledge and judgment,” said Yu. “This leads to contamination at the disposal stage and necessitates costly re-sorting later on. Ultimately, it reduces the value of recyclable materials and undermines the viability of the recycling market.”

He added, “The bts 토토사이트 Handler addresses these structural issues with technology—collecting data from the moment of disposal and creating a system that manages resources as valuable assets.”

Single Entry, Automated Sorting: Lowering the Barrier to Recycling

The bts 토토사이트 Handler’s key features are its single-entry design and automatic sorting functionality. Users no longer need to separate waste themselves—once thrown in, an internal camera and AI system determine the material and sort accordingly into three categories: general waste, recyclable waste, and high-quality recyclables.

If an item is recyclable, the device prompts the user on-screen and provides simple instructions—such as removing labels or compressing the item—and offers rewards for compliance.

“The strength of the bts 토토사이트 Handler is that it lowers the barrier to recycling using AI while also turning discarded waste into data, opening up new revenue models,” Yu explained.

The device is now in its fourth-generation prototype phase. It has evolved from a conveyor-belt design into a more lightweight unit by addressing raw material and mbts 토토사이트ntenance cost challenges. The team has also completed its own dataset and filed relevant patents.

Under zero-shot learning evaluation (where the model handles unseen classes), their bts 토토사이트 system outperformed commercial models by over 63%, demonstrating its technical viability.

From pilot testing to public service: HTPeo’s vision for impact

HTPeo plans to unveil the prototype and begin field testing this September. After acquiring KC certification and completing regulatory steps, the team bts 토토사이트ms to launch pilot programs with local governments and university campuses starting in October.

“We’re working toward full infrastructure readiness by 2026, when ESG disclosures become mandatory in Korea,” Yu stated. “We’ll scale into SaaS platforms, sorting center AI integration, and data marketplace services.”

South Korea reportedly loses about 2.5 trillion won annually due to inefficient recycling infrastructure. HTPeo’s mission is to reduce contamination and increase material recovery by turning waste into data. Yu emphasized, “We also hope to provide quantifiable ESG metrics that policymakers and businesses can use to make real impact.”

In closing, Yu offered advice to fellow student entrepreneurs: “Don’t wait for the perfect plan—start with small, data-driven experiments.” He added, “The insights and feedback we gained from talking directly with customers, investors, and users have been the most valuable guideposts for development. In the end, data and experience from the field are the greatest and most reliable assets you can have.”
