HYU Global Social Innovation Foundation Concludes First Cohort of ‘Sustainable ESG Leadership 비타임 토토 3.0’
Real-world Living Lab projects generate tangible outcomes 비타임 토토 community collaboration
Hanyang University’s Global Social Innovation Foundation (Director: Shin Hyun-sang) announced the successful completion of the first cohort of its “Sustainable ESG Leadership Program 3.0,” which ran during the first half of the year and concluded with both a foundational and an advanced track on July 24.
As part of the University Innovation Support Project, the program aimed to foster practice-oriented social innovators through extracurricular training that integrates ESG values with design thinking. Notably, the program was conducted in partnership with MYSC, a professional social innovation organization, and applied design thinking within a local living lab framework—a highly meaningful approach from an educational perspective.
During the 비타임 토토al track, held over four weeks during the spring semester, students learned the core concepts and processes of design thinking and participated in hands-on sessions where they analyzed local issues and developed creative solutions.
The advanced track, held over a three-week summer intensive, included: ▲ in-depth design thinking workshops ▲ on-site interviews and field research ▲ idea brainstorming sessions ▲ prototype development and testing ▲ and a final showcase in a World Café format.
Twenty-five 비타임 토토 were divided into five teams and each was matched with one of three businesses located within the Sageunsalgoti shopping district in Seongdong-gu. Each team collaborated directly with shop owners to propose and implement tailored solutions, many of which received positive feedback from the field.
One shop owner who attended the final showcase commented, “The students’ proposals were specific, practical, and immediately applicable. I believe this program will positively contribute to revitalizing our local commercial district.”
One participating student shared, “I had only studied design thinking in theory, but practicing it directly in the local market made the community feel much closer to me.” Another student added, “Transforming our ideas into tangible outcomes through prototyping and testing was an empowering experience that boosted my confidence.”
The Global Social Innovation Foundation plans to nominate top-performing participants from the advanced track for an international exchange 비타임 토토 with Osaka University in Japan. At the upcoming Korea-Japan Living Lab Symposium in late August, Hanyang University students will present their project outcomes and join workshops with Osaka University students to exchange social innovation case studies. Through this experience, students are expected to further enhance their collaborative and problem-solving skills on a global stage.
Hanyang University’s Global Social Innovation Foundation continues to operate various social innovation programs based on a virtuous cycle of education, research, and practice. As the only Ashoka U Changemaker Campus in Asia, the center plays a leading role in promoting social value both domestically and internationally.
